New Year
Well there goes another year on this neglected little blog. New year, new try! Im going to give it another go in the hopes to record some stuff i can look back on and remember. We have a big holiday planned this year, this may be my way of recording the journey. A travel journal maybe?
Im not into resolutions but i do want to try make a few positive changes, namely improving mental health and becoming more fit and healthy.
Here is hoping 2015 is a good one. Ako bogda - se deus quiser - God willing.

Weekend Getaway
Its Friday already!.... We had a short week this week, with Monday being a public holiday. LOVE long weekends! Last weekend we were lucky enough to get away for a long weekend, down South at a friends holdiday house. A friend through work has a house down at Goolwa and kindly let us stay there at very generous mates rates. We of course jumped at the chance of getting away and enjoying the last of the warm sunny days.
We enjoyed glorious, warm (if not hot) sunny days, while visitn/playing at the beach, wondering through the towns main street. We had some family/friends come up for a drive and visit as well as enjoying some time at the park with friends who live localy, for a catch up.
Not long enough fo a break, but enough to relax and recahrge the batteries just a tiny bit. Gotta take what you can in this fast paced life!
Happy weekend!

March already? Crazy town!
February.. What happened? I cant even remember - nothing too exciting, kids settled into school and child care. Stefan is doing awsome in care and loving it! Ana is going well in school, she just has a week worth of swimming at school which she enjoyed.
Ive found a cool new app which allows you to add profiles for your kids and record milestones and stats etc as well as add photos and video. Its encouraged me to do a photo a day.
Here is our month, which is also a good reminder of some of things we got up too - nothing too excititng.

I feel like this year is turning into the year of travel, albeit small ones. This month ive booked a trip to Syd for my birthday....meanwhile V has booked one back to Europe! :( im quietly freaking out about being own my own woth the kids. Im hone alone tonight, thinking its good practice yet it does t worry me as i know he is still here and home soon. I think its going to be the lingest 3 weeks of my life!
Still, we still have a few get aways before that happens. We are off for the weekend this weekend, just local, then Syd and a trip to Melb too!
Happy March!

Going to Child Care
Can I just have a little gloat?...I am so proud of my little man for such an easy/smooth entry into CC. I must admit, I didn’t go looking at too many CCC’s as I already had some knowledge from when Ana went, albeit a few years ago. I had, however heard a few really good things about this QEH CC (which not many know is there as you can’t see it from the street) but didn’t think much of it, as all I heard was how good it was but how they had a massive waiting list. I had sent my SIL a message asking what she thought of some of our local ones, as she had tried to put her DD into a couple of dif ones (but her DD HATED it all, even having her little cousin with her so they have pulled her out). Anyway she names a couple of good ones she liked and again mentioned the QEH one and how she had heard such good things about it. She went in for a visit and really liked it but they of course didn’t have a spot for her (in baby room) and there was a 18mth waiting list! So after trying another centre and they not having a spot free, I thought what the hell I’ll give them a ring, got nothing to lose. Low and behold, I rang and they had a couple of vacancies in Kindy room due to a couple of cancelations and some kids going off to school! Woot! We went in for a visit and was really impressed with the centre and all of the staff were so friendly and welcoming, not only to Stefan but to Ana and I too! I was sold and I had only been there 5mins. Lol. Anyway the director said she required him to have at least 3/4 visits before he started. So we did! So proud to say he did so well and did not shed one single tear at any of those visits and did really well and had a great time, they even invited him to stay through some meals at those visits. So yesterday was his first official day where he stayed all day and did brilliantly. He did get a little upset in the morning as he was the first one there. He asked “where are all my friends” and wasn’t so sure and was a bit upset about being left alone. His primary carer soon took him and he was fine. When I called later she said he was fine, no probs and she too agrees it would just have been the fact he was used to coming into a room full of activity and kids. I called once more at lunch to check on him and all was well! She said “He is doing brilliantly and it’s like his been here a billion times before”. When I picked him up, he was happily playing and they said he had a great day and even was chatty to everyone by the end of the day. Played well, ate well (four serves of lunch!) and even had a sleep of just over an hour! He seems to have taken to his primary carer really well and by all accounts everyone was pleasantly surprised at how well he has done! Its only early days but I have to say that was way too easy! I’m now waiting on the sickness/germs he brings home etc, which is all part and parcel of the journey.
I’m mega impressed with the whole centre and the professionalism and friendliness from every single staff member, down to the cook! I love that it’s a community run centre with only 50 children per day. Everyone already knows us by name and remembers things from just passing comments (ie: when I was crippled with back injury on our very first visit). When I picked him up yesterday they even had a welcome pack for us, which included a little collage of pics and a little spill from his visits.
So happy to see him grow, learn and develop from new/dif experiences beyond our little village.

Lumbar pain
So it seems my shopping trip turned into an expensiver excersice, bringing with it hefty physio bills to try and repor my lumbar pain/strain.
I dont recall a particular incident but i do remember being in the fitting room amd not being able to bend over or loft my legs freely to get in and out of clothes....
...this had led me to being bed ridden, where the only possible position is flat on my back. I have never experienced before. I did stoopidly try to go to work today ( I sit all day) and well that didnt last long.
We had a family/friend dinner to go to tonight and well hubby and kids are there while i lay up in bed :)
In other news... I finally got my 2014 diary. I must get a hard copy one to carry with me, despite the tech savy world we live in! So here i lay/sit filling that out!

This week we celebrated Serbian Christmas, Jan 7th! Its nice that we can all do our own thing and not have to stretch ourselves thin at christmas time but it also means, the festivities last allot longer and the diets camt start till later ;)
We celebrated with a pig in the spit, as per usual!

This weekend, we had a couple of cousins over for a sleepover and subsequently a 4am wake up!
Grrr, kids! We took the kids to the beach for the morning, before taking the boys back home and heading home for a sleep of our own!
In the afternoon i took Miss A on a date to the cinema to watch Frozen, which shes been asking for for a bit.

This evening I got to cook one of my fav meals, which is a rare occurrence, due to the fact the big boy hates it. He was out for the evening so there was no doubt about what was on the menu. :)

Today I went shopping with SIL for a dress for a family friends wedding we have on later in the month. I came home with a little black dress and a pair of shoes at a bargain price...coz u know the 50 pairs in the cupboard are not enough. ;)
Ohh and look at the week ahead?

2014
I will enter with a smile on my face and hope in my heart.
Happy new year! - I must say new years (eve) and all its 'celebrations, has never been something that I've got excited about. For the past 3 years however its been special as my baby boy is a new years baby! A few years ago new years eve was eventful and ever since and for ever after new years day will be celebrated for my sons birthday! Happy birthday baby boy - we love you more than you will ever know.
So yes for us the last week of the year was a busy one, spent with dear friends visiting from interstate. A new years eve gathering with followed by a 3rd birthday party with family and friends with a few sore heads to boot.
Im not one for resolutions and i wont look back nor will i look too far forward. I will instead have hope in my heart that 2014 will bring me at the very least health. Sure there are a million one things I could wish for and resolute but rather then the potential of setting myself up for failure, i will take each day as it comes and instead try to enjoy the small things and be grateful for what I have.
Today, right now I am grateful for my healthy and loving husband and children who love me unconditionally.
