My little Miss is really good at interpreting things. You only need to mention things once, and she is on to it...Won't forget it.
It has taken 3.5 little years and me having a "conversation" with her about the fact she can get out of her own bed, on her own in the morning. This on the back of her NEVER getting up out of bed but rather call out or cry out till one of us went in there and OK'd her getting up.
Anyway all it took was one chat and she was onto it...getting up and coming in on a Sun morning calling out at the top of her lungs "I'm awake...I got up by myself"....Yeah we can see/hear! Ever since she is up and in our room around 7am. Although, very early for a weekend we don't mind, much better then being awoken by cry outs.
Last weekend I suggested, in passing that it OK for her to stay in her room and play/read etc once she wakes up in the morning (secretly hoping to buy us at least another 30min of zzzzz's). Well this is where the "taking it literally" comes in...the next night V woke up and thought he would go check on her and she was standing in the corridor with the light on. She was up and "playing" and didn't want to go back to bed. Luckily she was talked into going back to bed ans settling, easily enough. But by golly, I never expected that was the interpretation of getting up in the morning and playing on your own. lol.
She did follow the instructions...After all 3am is morning!
